DAVENPORT, Fla. – The Husson University baseball team concluded its spring trip to the Southeastern part of the country with an 11-0 loss to Marymount University in the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational on Thursday afternoon.
After two scoreless innings between Marymount (10-7) and Husson (4-4), the Saints got on the board with two runs in the top of the third on an RBI-groundout and an RBI-single to take the first lead of the contest.
Marymount added three more runs onto its lead the following inning on a wild pitch, a single and a groundout, to break the game open 5-0 after four innings.
Following a line-change in the field for the Eagles in the visitor-half of the sixth inning, the Saints managed to tack on two additional runs in the sixth, before posting four runs in the seventh to wrap up their 10th victory of the year.
Husson was limited to just four hits in the contest, including just one extra-base knock from graduate student Jackson Curtis.
The Eagles will return home and begin play in the Pine Tree state on Wednesday when they head to Waterville for a battle against Colby College at 4 p.m.
