DAVENPORT, Fla. — The Husson University baseball team overcame a five-run deficit on Wednesday to pick up a 11-10 12-inning win over Mitchell College.
Husson (4-3) trailed 10-5 after a Mitchell (2-10) three-run homerun in the top of the seventh inning, however the Eagles battled back scoring three runs in the bottom half of the inning to pull within 10-8. Junior

Tyler Michaud connected on a two-RBI single that plated Curtis and sophomore
Matt Holmes.
Holmes cut the lead to one with an RBI triple in the eighth and
Hunter Curtis doubled to score Holmes to tie the game and force extra innings.
After a scoreless 10th and 11th innings, Husson began the 12th with a leadoff double from sophomore
Henry Lausier followed by a single from junior
Colin Marshall and a walk from graduate student
Akira Warren loaded the bases for the Eagles with no outs.
Junior
Cam Rendell reached on a fielder's choice to first base, allowing Mitchell to get Lausier at the plate for the first out of the inning, however
Jackson Curtis drove in Marshall for the winning run on a fielder's choice to shortstop to come away with the 11-10 win.
The Eagles and Mariners traded blows over the first seven innings of Wednesday extra-inning showdown. Mitchell took a 1-0 lead in the first, but Husson jumped out 3-1 in the third following a two-run homerun from Warren and an RBI double by Holmes.
The Mariners scored two runs in the firth to even the game at 3-3, but
Jackson Curtis drove in Warren in the bottom half of the inning to give the Eagles back a 4-3 advantage.
Warren extended the Husson lead with an RBI single in the sixth to take a 5-3 edge, however, a two-RBI double by the Mariners to lead off the seventh tied the game 5-5 before Mitchell scored five more runs to take a 10-5 led.
Freshman
Chris Lusignan got the win for the Eagles, tossing the final 2.2 innings, striking out three and allowing only three hits.
Sophomore
Jacob Love impressed on the mound, tossing 2.2 innings of no-hit baseball, while striking out three to help keep Mitchell scoreless and force extra innings
Senior
Matt Wallingford got the start for Husson, pitching five innings, allowing three runs and striking out four batters.
Warren finished an impressive 4-6 at the plate with three RBIs, while Holmes also added a 4-6 effort with two RBIs.
Hunter Curtis and senior
Tanner Evans finished with three hits, while
Jackson Curtis added a two-hit effort.
Husson finished the matchup with 21 hits, including five doubles, while limiting Mitchell to 15 hits over 12 innings and walking only four batters.
The Eagles close out their Spring Break Trip on Thursday when they battle Marymount University at 4 p.m. in Davenport, Florida.
