LEWISTON, Maine — Senior
Mackenzie Emerson won the 1,000 meters, while two women's indoor track & field athletes qualified for the New England Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday at the Bobcat "Fresh" Tune-up.
Freshman
Molly Dearborn ran to a sixth-place finish in the 200 meters with a personal-best time of 28.10.
Emerson won the 1,000 meters with a PR time of 3:12.53, while sophomore
Abby Hunt set a PR in the mile with a time of 6:50.65.
Senior
Ava Dowling posted a second-place time of 11:06.06 in the 3,000 meters.
The Eagles 4x200-meter relay team of freshmen
Brooke Chase and
Natasha Monreal along with junior
Niamiah Perry and Dearborn won the event with a time of 1:54.66.
Junior
Nina Gregory qualified for New England Indoor Championships in the high jump with a height of 1.56 meters, finishing second in the event.
Fellow junior Alexis Freeman posted a PR height of 2.95 meters in the pole vault to finish fifth and Monreal added to her impressive freshman indoor season qualifying for New England's in the long jump with a distance of 5.20 meters to finish second in the event.
Additionally, Perry finished seventh in the long jump with a distance of 4.47 meters.
Monreal also finished fifth in the triple jump with a jump of 10.13 meters, while junior
Megan Fletcher set a PR in the shot put at 9.98 meters, finishing fourth in the event.
Freshman
Paige Chesbro added a seventh-place finish in the shot put with a throw of 9.16 meters.
Fletcher added another top-five finish in the weight throw with a distance of 12.04 meters, while senior
Aaralyn Scroggins finished eighth with a throw of 11.80 meters.
The Eagles now turn their attention to the New England Division III Indoor Track & Field Championship on Feb. 28 and Mar. 1 in Boston, Massachusetts at the Track at New Balance.
