Perkins, Pushard headline field hockey CMCFHC postseason awards

| By:

WATERVILLE, Maine – The Central Maine Collegiate Field Hockey Conference unveiled its postseason awards on Thursday and Husson University received three major awards and five all-conference selections.

Senior Maddie Perkins was named conference player of the year and earned a spot on the all-conference team. Perkins concluded the regular season as one of the most dominant two-way midfielders in the conference, becoming the program's all-time assists leader (36). This season, Perkins led the team with nine assists while also finishing as the top goal-scorer with 10, totaling 29 points—accounting for direct involvement in nearly half of Husson's total offense.

Fellow senior Leah Pushard was selected as co-defensive player of the year, in addition to earning an all-conference nod. Pushard has been the anchor of Husson's defensive unit all season, delivering consistency, toughness, and game-changing plays in critical moments. Pushard recorded nine defensive saves during the regular season—a new Husson single-season program record—showcasing her exceptional awareness and commitment to protecting the cage. She is also an integral part of our defensive corner unit that allowed just 14 goals on 118 corner attempts, demonstrating her composure, discipline, and reliability under pressure.

Senior Averi Baker was selected as an all-conference player and has been a driving force in Husson's offensive success this season, finishing second on the team in both goals (9) and assists (6), and accounting for a major share of the team's scoring production. In conference play alone, Baker contributed 3 goals and 2 assists, proving to be a constant threat.

Junior Faith Tillotson picked up an all-conference honor after being a dynamic offensive force for Husson this season, consistently elevating the attack with her speed, finishing ability, and field awareness. Tillotson ranks among Husson's top offensive producers through the end of the regular season with 9 goals and 5 assists, showcasing her versatility as both a goal-scorer and facilitator.

Senior Ella Louder received the final all-conference selection for the Eagles and has been one of the anchors of the defensive unit this season, consistently shutting down attacking opportunities and delivering in high-pressure moments. Ella recorded seven defensive saves and one assist in the regular season, highlighting her ability not only to defend at a high level but also to contribute to Husson's offensive transitions. Additionally, Louder also became the program's all-time career leader in defensive saves with 15 when she broke the previous mark in Husson's CMCFHC championship win over Thomas College last Sunday.

Pushard was also named co-senior scholar athlete, as exemplifies the ideal student-athlete, excelling both on the field and in the classroom. Pushard has consistently demonstrated leadership, dedication, and a competitive spirit, anchoring Husson's defense throughout her career. Off the field, Pushard has distinguished herself academically in Husson's rigorous BS Exercise Science/Doctor of Physical Therapy program, maintaining a stellar 3.846 GPA. Beyond academics, she contributes to the community through the Fighting Eagles Boxing Club, a program offering boxing-centered wellness classes for patients with Parkinson's Disease, reflecting her commitment to using her skills to positively impact the lives of others. Leah's career goal is to become a physical therapist for stroke survivors, inspired by a personal connection to her Meme.

After the conclusion of the CMCFHC championship on Sunday, Perkins, Tillotson, Baker, Louder and Pushard were named to the all-tournament team, with Perkins earning MVP honors.

Additionally for the Eagles, senior Ruby Kitchin was named to the sportsmanship team and head coach Kaitlin Dolloff and her staff were voted coaching staff of the year.
