NORWICH, Vt. – The Husson University women's swimming & diving team went down to the wire with Norwich University on Saturday afternoon, but ultimately fell to the Cadets 151-140.

Leading the way for the Eagles was freshman Sara Harriman, who swept all three of her individual events in dominant fashion, winning the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:53.42), 500 freestyle (5:52.14), and 100 individual medley (1:12.39). Freshman Emily Kennard was equally impressive, posting victories in the 50 backstroke (29.74) and 200 backstroke (2:20.46) while anchoring the winning 200 freestyle relay alongside freshman Brooklyn Henderson, junior Olivia Underwood, and sophomore Mariah Muskavitch, who combined for a first-place finish in 1:50.45.

The Eagles were particularly strong in the butterfly events, where freshman Abbey Donato and sophomore Morgan Collins delivered a one-two finish in the 200 fly, with Donato taking the win in 2:42.63 and Collins just behind in 2:51.21. Muskavitch added a third-place finish in the 50 fly (30.79) to round out Husson's dominance in that stroke.

In the sprints, Henderson earned first place in the 100 freestyle (59.56) and second in the 50 free (26.67), while Underwood placed second in the 200 free (2:13.84) and third in the 100 backstroke (1:08.79). Junior Logan Williams was runner-up in both the 50 breaststroke (35.53) and 200 breaststroke (3:02.81), while sophomore Gabrielle Hoffmann added crucial points with third-place finishes in both the 1,000 free (13:01.60) and 500 free (6:21.05).

The 200 medley relay of Kennard, Williams, Muskavitch, and Henderson took second (2:06.10) to open the meet.

On the diving boards, senior Riley Mahoney took second in both the one-meter, six dives with a score of 191.45 and the one-meter five-dives with a score of 131.20.

The Eagles return to the pool next weekend when they travel to Eastern Connecticut State University for an 11 a.m. start.
