COBLESKILL, N.Y. – The Husson University men's soccer team continued its unblemished start to North Atlantic Conference play on Saturday afternoon, as it shutout SUNY Cobleskill by a final of 4-0 on the road.
After having two chances turned away, in addition to having two shots not finding the target, Husson (5-7-3, 5-0 NAC) broke through in the 12th minute when senior Arik Weinstein found the back of the net for his first goal of the season.
Freshman Miguel Diaz Alvarez found the next two goals for the Eagles as he capitalized on a feed from classmate Cesar Soucre in the 21st minute to double the Husson lead, before converting on a penalty kick in the 63rd minute to further pad his team's lead.
Husson continued to dominate and would add on a fourth tally in the 85th minute, as freshman Janvier Mbilizi secured his first collegiate goal to conclude the scoring on a pass from freshman Jorge Mora.
The Eagles pounded the Cobleskill (3-7-2, 0-3-2 NAC) goal with 22 total shots, including 13 on target, leading both categories by a significant margin, while also mustering 10 corner kicks in the match.
Freshman Liam Mason played the majority of the game in net and made two saves in just over 74 minutes of play, while sophomore Jamie Barr finished the match and made one save.
The Eagles are back on the pitch tomorrow when they head to SUNY Delhi for a 2:30 p.m. conference contest.
