BANGOR, Maine — The Husson University women's basketball team picked up a weekend sweep after beating SUNY Delhi 101-28 at home on Sunday.
Husson (9-10, 7-1 NAC) has now won seven-straight North Atlantic Conference match ups, and a 29-point opening quarter helped the Eagles get off to a fast start.
The Eagles outscored SUNY Delhi (0-16, 0-7 NAC) 29-10 over the opening 10 minutes on 50-percent shooting from the floor.
Following a 27-8 second quarter, Husson controlled a 56-18 advantage after shooting 58.8 percent from the floor and 50 percent from 3-point range.
History would be made in the third quarter as the Eagles came out of the half and held the Broncos scoreless for the quarter, becoming the first team in program history to not have an opponent score on them in a quarter.
SUNY Delhi battled the Eagles tough over the final 10 minutes, but Husson came away with the 18-10 quarter win and the 101-28 decision.

Jordyn Lengle led all scorers with a game-high 18 points, adding six rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Freshman
Alana Seward followed up a stellar performance against SUNY Delhi with an 11-point game, while senior
Maci Beals added 11 points.
Senior
Trinity Montigny finished with a team-high eight rebounds, while fellow senior
Makaelyn Porter added nine points.
Additionally, junior
Laela Martinez dished out a game and career-high six assists and freshman
Lilly Roy added a game-high four steals.
Husson finished with 37 points off 31 SUNY Delhi turnovers, adding a 64-18 advantage on points in the paint, 21 fast-break points and 59 points off the bench.
The Eagles now turn their attention to the University of Maine at Farmington on Saturday when they host senior day prior to game time at 1 p.m.
