BANGOR, Maine — The Husson University women's track & field team returned to competition on Friday competing at the Black Bear Invite, hosted by the University of Maine.
In the 60-meter dash, freshman
Molly Dearborn set a personal-best time of 8.39 seconds to finish fourth overall, while junior
Niamiah Perry clocked an 8.70 to finish sixth.
Dearborn added to her strong performance on the day by winning the 200-meter dash with a PR time of 29.12, while Perry finished second with a 30.84.
In the 300-meter dash, Dearborn posted a 47.39 to finish score for the Eagles with a seventh-place finish.
Sophomore
Abby Hunt scored for Husson in the 1,000 meters, clocking a PR time of 4:01.94, while senior
Ava Dowling ran to a fourth-place finish in the 3,000 meters with a PR time of 11:08.98. Additionally, junior
Grace Bedore finished sixth in the event with an 11:30.73.
Freshman
Brooke Chase ran to a third-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles, posting a time of 10.98.
Junior
Nina Gregory won the high jump, clearing 1.55 meters, while freshman
Natasha Monreal cleared a PR distance of 5.31 meters to win the long jump.
Gregory posted a distance of 4.53 meters to finish sixth in the long jump, while Chase and Monreal finished fourth and fifth in the triple jump with marks of 9.27 meters and 10.47 meters.
Freshman
Paige Chesbro led the Eagles in the shot put throwing 9.49 meters to finish fifth overall, while junior
Megan Fletcher threw 9.11 meters to finish sixth and senior
Aaralyn Scroggins finished seventh with a throw of 9.06 meters.
Fletcher led Husson in the weight throw, setting a PR with a throw of 12.81 meters to finish fifth, followed by Scroggins, who also set a PR with a throw of 12.08 meters.
The Eagles compete at the Husky Invitational next Saturday hosted by the University of Southern Maine.
