BIDDEFORD, Maine — The Husson University volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision on the road against the University of New England Tuesday evening by scores of 25-14, 25-22 and 25-11.
UNE (9-0) jumped out early on the Eagles opening up an 8-2 lead over Husson (2-7) before picking up the 24-14 opening-set win.
The Eagles battled back in the second set finishing the set with 10 kills and only two errors, but the Nor'Easter's added 15 kills of their own and five service aces to earn the 25-22 decision.
UNE closed out the match with a 25-11 set-three win to remain unbeaten on the season.
Freshman
Mikayla Gray led the Eagles with six kills and a .294 hitting percentage, while sophomore
Janna Preskorn recorded five kills and senior
Alexa Beal pitched in four kills and no hitting errors.
Senior
Beatrice Tursi tallied a team-high 10 digs, while Husson finished the match with six blocks.
The Eagles will now battle of the Monks of Saint Joseph's College of Maine on Saturday with first serve schedule for 11 a.m.
