BIDDEFORD, Maine — The Husson University field hockey team battled the University of New England to a 3-2, last-second loss on the road Tuesday in non-conference action.
Husson (3-3) trailed UNE (3-3) 1-0 following the opening 15 minutes of Tuesday's in-state showdown and found itself down 2-0 with just under 10 minutes remaining in the second quarter.
However, the Eagles railed scoring :55 second after UNE's second goal to cut into the lead at 2-1. Junior

Faith Tillotson's assist.
Three minutes later, Husson tied the game when Perkins assisted on sophomore
Tessa Capozzoli's equalizing goal.
Both the Eagles and Nor'Easter's were held in check for the third quarter and most of the fourth, until UNE scored with 1:34 remaining in the game to pick up the 3-2 win.
Both Capozzoli and Perkins finished with five shot attempts for the Eagles with Perkins putting three on cage, Husson finished with a 12-8 shot edge, but UNE won a close 6-5 shots on goal battle.
The Eagles will now host the University of Southern Maine on Saturday with game time scheduled for noon.
