BANGOR, Maine - Husson University toppled the University of Maine at Farmington, 17-1, in a North Atlantic Conference women's lacrosse contest at John P. Boucher Field on Wednesday evening.

Averi Baker opened the scoring at the 12:39 mark of the first quarter and sophomore
Laela Martinez capped the first stanza ledger with an unassisted goal and the Eagles holding a 4-0 lead.
Husson (2-5, 1-0 NAC) obtained a 7-0 cushion when Baker netted her third goal of the game with 4:40 before the break. Junior
Natalie Whitten capped the first half scoring with a tally off a junior
Jordyn Lengle pass to make it an 8-0 game with 1:42 left in the half.
Nine different Eagles hit pay dirt in the second half while the lone University of Maine at Farmington (3-4, 0-1 NAC) goal happen at the 6:54 mark of the third quarter when Ruby McMinis scored off a pass from Abby Trefsger on a women-up advantage.
Husson held the lead in shots (43-12), shots on goal (31-6), ground balls (33-22), draw controls (15-7), and caused turnovers (24-13) in the victory.
The Eagles deployed both of their goals in the triumph, as sophomore
Emma Begin made four saves in 30 minutes played and junior
Lacey Scanlon added a save in 30 minutes played.
University of Maine at Farmington netminder Skye Cotnoir made 14 saves with one ground ball in the setback.
Baker netted three goals with an assist, two ground balls and three caused turnovers. Martinez added three goals, three ground balls, a caused turnover and six draw controls. Whitten scored three goals with three assists. Senior

The Eagles tallied five women-up goals in the win, breaking the program's single-game record for the most women-up goals scored in a game. The previous record was set by the 2010 team when they scored four at Becker College.
Husson will play at SUNY Poly on Saturday at 1 p.m.
