BANGOR, Maine — The Husson University baseball picked up a pair of North Atlantic Conference victories over the University of Maine at Farmington on Saturday winning 1-0 and 20-6.
Husson (14-9, 10-2 NAC) battled Farmington (8-23, 4-7 NAC) in Saturday's opening game as junior
Connor Abood got the start on the mound and dazzled over seven-complete innings.
Abood allowed just three hits over seven innings while striking out four batters and walking just one.
Farmington starter Jameson Bloch also impressed over seven innings, allowing six hits and striking out three. However, Husson plated the deciding run in the fifth inning when sophomore

In the final game of Saturday's double header, Husson exploded for 20 runs on 19 hits to earn the doubleheader sweep.
The Eagles wasted no time in the finale, plating four runs in the first inning to open up a 4-0 edge.
Senior
Akira Warren got the scoring started with an RBI double to left field and sophomore
Cam Rendell doubled to right center to score two more runs. Rendell would later come around to score on a wild pitch for the fourth run.
The Eagles would keep their momentum going with two more runs in the second inning as sophomore
Jack Cote homered to left field to leadoff the inning and senior
Jackson Curtis connected on a solo homerun to left center for a 6-0 edge.
After being held in check for the third and fourth innings, Husson scored two more runs in the fifth inning to run its advantage to 8-0. Scoring on a passed ball and an RBI double by freshman
Matt Holmes.
As it did in the fifth, the Eagles added to their lead with three more runs in the sixth inning after the Beavers got on the board with one in the top half of the inning. Senior
Justin Salvatore connected on an RBI ground out for the first run, while freshman
Henry Lausier scored fellow freshman
Ryan Bousquet on a sacrifice flyout and a bases loaded walk gave Husson a 11-1 advantage.
The Beavers wouldn't go quietly scoring five runs in the top of the eighth inning to pull within 11-6 of the Eagles. However, Husson plated nine runs in the bottom half of the inning to open up a 20-6 lead.
Cote continued his strong afternoon with a two-RBI single, while Salvatore plated two more on a single and Bousquet drove in one run on a single of his own. Additionally, junior
Tyler Michaud plated two runs on a two-RBI double.
Cote finished with three hits and four RBI's in the game, while Warren also collected three hits.
Husson battles UMF on Sunday with first pitch set for noon. Husson will honor its senior class prior to first pitch.
