DELHI, N.Y. — The Husson University men's lacrosse team dropped a hard fought 15-5 decision to SUNY Delhi on the road Sunday in North Atlantic Conference play.
SUNY Delhi (10-4, 3-3 NAC) managed to take a 4-0 edge over the Eagles on Sunday before senior
Matt Boynton got Husson (5-10, 2-5 NAC) on the board to make the deficit 4-1.
However, the Broncos rolled off three more goals to end the opening period to control a 7-1 lead heading into the second quarter.
Husson and SUNY Delhi traded goals in the second quarter with the Broncos scoring first to open the quarter followed by back-to-back goals by junior Nathan VIbber and freshman
Drew Clinch.
The Broncos ended the quarter with the equalizer to take a 9-3 lead into the break.
Delhi outscored the Eagles 4-1 in the third with Husson's lone goal coming from Boynton to increase its advantage to 13-4 heading into the final quarter.
Sophomore
Kolton Gillilan scored the Eagles final goal in the fourth, but Delhi added two more netfinders to increase its lead to 15-5 and hang on for the win.
Freshman
Owen Giorgio finished with four caused turnovers and 11 ground balls on the day, while sophomore
Trenton Montana forced three turnovers and collected four ground balls.
The Eagles will conclude the 2024 on Saturday when they host Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts with faceoff set for noon.
