BANGOR, Maine — The Husson University men's lacrosse team fell 24-7 to Maine Maritime Academy in North Atlantic Conference action on Wednesday evening.
MMA (6-4, 3-1 NAC) jumped out a 10-0 lead in the opening quarter of Wednesday's NAC showdown, adding two more goals in the beginning of the second quarter to take a 12-0 lead before junior
Sean Lyne got the Eagles on the board off an assist from senior
Dean Sinkler.
Senior
Matt Boynton added another goal for Husson (4-9, 1-4 NAC) in the first half, but MMA controlled an 18-2 advantage heading into halftime.
Husson scored three goals in the third quarter, the first from sophomore
Kolton Gillilan from freshman
Drew Clinch, the second from freshman
Aidan Byers and the third from junior
Nathan Vibber from sophomore
Andrew Hurst, but the Mariners answered the Eagles three third-quarter scores with three of their own.
Lyne and Gillilan scored again for the Eagles in the fourth quarter, but the Mariners 10-0 run to begin the matchup proved to be too much for Husson to overcome.
Next up for the Eagles is a trip to New York for a Saturday matchup against SUNY Cobleskill and a Sunday game against SUNY Delhi.
