ORONO, Maine — The Husson University baseball team was back in action on the road Wednesday, falling to the University of Maine 11-4 in non-conference action.
Maine (4-16) managed to take an early 2-0 lead on the Eagles with two runs in the bottom of the first inning, but Husson (2-5) held the Black Bears in check over the second and third inning, while adding a run in the top half of the third to pull within 2-1 of Maine.

However, the Black Bears benefited from three runs in the fourth and five in the fifth to open up a 10-1 lead.
Husson scored two runs in the sixth inning to cut into Maine's advantage, scoring on a wild pitch and adding a second run on sophomore

Maine and Husson traded runs over the seventh and eighth innings, the Eagles scoring their fourth run on an RBI single by freshman Rylan Bousquet who entered the game as a pinch hitter.
Curtis finished with a team-high two hits in the loss, while Husson finished with eight hits for the game.
Junior
Connor Abood threw well in relief for the Eagles, tossing two scoreless innings with four strikeouts, while sophomore
Ben Phillips also threw a scoreless inning in relief.
Husson limited the Black Bears to 12 hits on the night, while striking out eight Maine batters.
Next up for the Eagles is a home doubleheader against the University of Maine – Presque Isle on Saturday beginning at 11 a.m.
