ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Junior Rachel Hand finished 25th in the 100-yard backstroke preliminary this morning on day two of the 2024 Eastern College Athletic Conference Swimming & Diving Open Championship at the Lejeune Hall on the campus of host United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. This meet is arguably the most prestigious college swim meet in the northeast boasting tough qualifying standards for NCAA athletes in division I, division II, and division III. This meet is mostly made up of NCAA division I athletes.
Hand touched the wall with a time of 1:01.16 to finish more than .10 one-hundredths of second faster than sophomore Gabriela Betancourt Gonzalez of Frostburg State University.
The Bangor, Maine native will swim her final event on Sunday when she competes in the 200-yard backstroke.
