PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Husson University women's swimming & diving team finished second at the 2024 Metropolitan Collegiate Swimming & Diving Conference Championship at Rutgers University Aquatic Center.
The Eagles scored 814 points, while Felician University captured the 2024 METS crown with 1,249 points. Maine Maritime Academy (771.5), Roberts Wesleyan University (727) and Baruch College (667.5) rounded out the top-5 schools in the team standings.
The Eagles began the final day of competition by seeing sophomore
Maggie Poulin (21.51.20), freshman
Isabella Cost (23:15.71) and junior
Kat Christensen (26:36.71) finish 12th, 16th and 18th in the 1,650-yard freestyle.
Husson saw three swimmers place in the top-16 of the 200-yard backstroke, led by junior
Erin Madden's eighth-place showing with a time of 2:27.55. Freshman
Mia Winslow finished ninth in the event with a time of 2:25.39 before graduate student
Hannah Soutter turned in a time of 2:32.85 to finish 15th.
Junior
Rachel Hand broke Husson's 100-yard freestyle program record during the prelims in the morning before bettering her time in the finals with a 55.29 to earn a fifth-place finish. The previous record of 56.04 was held by Cammi Howard for 19-years.

Grace Rocheleau recorded a ninth-place showing in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:49.59 while freshman
Mackenzie Gray logged a time of 3:01.49 to finish 17th and ahead of freshman
Aura Morin's 18th-place effort of 3:09.19.
Senior
Kayla Payson earned a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly after swimming a time of 2:18.78. Payson broke her own school record in the event when she swam a 2:18.73 in the morning prelims. Christensen also scored in the event, placing 12th overall with a time of 3:34.54.
Husson picked up more points while the swimming finals were happening with three of their divers placing among the top-six on the one-meter board. Sophomore
Riley Mahoney led the trio by placing third after tallying 381.50 points. Sophomore
Lily Butler placed fourth with a score of 314.25, while sophomore
Joey Lynn Ramsdell racked up 288.90 points to place sixth. Mahoney broke the program's one-meter diving 11-set record when she scored 393.60 points during the morning prelims.
The Eagles closed out their competition with a fifth-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a 3:54.28 by the team of Payson, Winslow, Madden and Hand.
The Eagles will return to the pool on February 24 at Maine Maritime Academy's Last Chance Meet.
