CASTINE, Maine — The Husson University volleyball team upset No. 2 seed Thomas College in the North Atlantic Conference Quarterfinals hosted by Maine Maritime Academy on Saturday.
Husson (9-15) and Thomas (6-14) traded points throughout the opening set with the Eagles controlling a slight 13-11 advantage, however Husson rolled off an 8-0 run to extend its lead to 21-11.
The Terriers pulled within 21-13, but Husson finished the set on a 4-2 run to take a 25-15 opening set decision.
After Thomas took a 5-4 lead to begin the second set, the Eagles rattled off a 5-1 run to take a 9-6 edge, however the Terriers battled back and took a 10-9 advantage. Both squads traded leads over the next few points, before Husson went ahead 18-14 and held on for the 25-20 decision.
Saturday's final set came down to the wire, both teams traded leads before Husson held a 20-15 edge. Thomas didn't go down without a fight as it battled back and took a 24-23 advantage and looked to claim the third set.

Janna Preskorn sealed the 26-24 win for the Eagles.
Preskorn finished with a game-high 17 kills for the Eagles, while Schweitzer and Gray both added eight.

Leah Peloquin recorded three service aces each and sophomore
Alana Peruti tallied three blocks.
Senior
Alyvia McIntyre posted a 32-assist, 12-dig double-doube in the win, while Tursi scooped up 14 digs and Gray finished with 11.
Husson now battled No. 1 seed MMA on Sunday at Noon with the winner advancing to the NAC championship.
