CASTINE, Maine — The Husson University volleyball team fell to No. 1 seed Maine Maritime Academy 3-0 on Sunday in the North Atlantic Conference East Division Championship.
MMA (17-10) wasted little time opening up an 8-1 advantage in Sunday's first set, before Husson (9-16) pulled within 8-4. However, the Mariners closed out the set on a 17-7 run to take a 25-11 opening set.
Similar to the opening frame, MMA benefited from a 6-1 run to begin the set. The Eagles would battle back to make the set 15-11, but the Mariners closed out the frame 25-17 and won the third set 25-11 to win the NAC East Division championship.
Freshman
Mikayla Gray finished with a team-high six kills and 10 digs for the Eagles, while senior's
Alyvia McIntyre tallied 11 assists and
Beatrice Tursi added nine digs.
