WALTHAM, Mass. — The Husson University women's basketball team opened its 2024-25 season on the road against George Fox University on the road in the Brandeis Tip-Off Tournament on Friday evening.
Husson (0-1) looked to be in control early as the Eagles put up 21 points in the first half taking a 21-10 advantage into the second quarter.
However, George Fox (1-0) outscored Husson 20-15 in the second quarter to pull within 36-30 at the half.
The Eagles would open up a 15-point advantage to begin the second half, but George Fox outscored Husson 16-4 to end the quarter and pull within 49-46 heading into the deciding quarter.
Both Husson and George Fox traded points throughout the fourth, but a 16-10 run over the final 10 minutes proved to be the difference as George Fox came away with the tightly-contested 62-59 decision.

Jordyn Lengle finished with a 12-point, 10-rebound double-double for the Eagles, while graduate student
Makaelyn Porter posted a game-high 13 points.

Lauren Cook added 10 points, hitting on 2-4 from behind the 3-point arc. Freshman
Alyssa Harris finished with eight points in her debut as Husson played 16 players in its season opener, getting scoring from 10 different Eagles.
Husson returns to the floor on Saturday with in battles Framingham State University at noon in its final game of the Brandeis Tip-Off Tournament.
