WATERVILLE, Maine — The Husson University field hockey team upset top seeded Thomas College 3-2 in a shootout thriller for the Central Maine Collegiate Field Hockey Conference Championship on Sunday.

Maddie Perkins.
Thomas (10-6) tied the game 1-1 in the second quarter with a goal from Maci Freeman, but
Maddie Perkins put Husson back up 2-1 win a goal in the third quarter.
However, the Terriers didn't go down without a fight as they tied the game at the 51:17 mark in the fourth quarter to force overtime.
Following two scoreless 10-minute overtime periods. The game was decided in a shootout for the conference championship.
The Terriers first shootout attempt was missed, while Ramsdell game the Eagles a 1-0 advantage. Thomas' Hilary Howard tied the shootout 1-1 before Husson missed its second attempt. Julia Reny gave Thomas a 2-1 edge, but sophomore
Faith Tillotson tied the shootout 2-2.
Following three-straight Terrier missed shootout attempts Perkins sent the Eagles home with the win scoring on the final shootout attempt for a 3-2 edge.
