WATERVILLE, Maine – The Husson University women's soccer team fell in non-conference action to Colby College on Tuesday evening by the final score of 6-0 at Bill Alfond Field in Waterville.
Colby (8-3) struck fast to open Tuesday evening's contest, as Abigail Jarvi found the back of the net at the 3:40 mark to open the scoring for the Mules.
Colby added two more goals in the first half, as Catherine Watrous tallied her sixth goal of the year on an assist from Jane Maguire, while Jadyn Liebman posted her second goal of the season just before halftime on a pass from Ella Caraluzzi to send the Mules into the halftime break up 3-0.
Claire Walsh extended the lead to 4-0 for Colby just over a minute into the second half when she capitalized on a pass from Mia Sullivan to tally her third goal of the year.
Watrous secured a brace with her second goal of the match in the 65th minute on an assist from Caraluzzi, while Elo Luczkow sent a penalty kick into the back of the net to close the scoring for the match, giving the Mules a 6-0 win.
Colby outshot Husson (5-6-1) 31-4 for the match, including 19-3 in shots on goal, in addition to a 9-3 edge in corner kicks.
Junior Madison Weigler and senior Hannah Kenney split time in net for the Eagles, as Weigler made five saves and Kenney turned away eight shots for Husson.
The Eagles are back in action on Saturday when they host Lesley University in North Atlantic Conference action at 3:30 p.m.
