BANGOR, Maine — The Husson University men's soccer team dropped a hard-fought North Atlantic Conference 2-1 decision to Maine Maritime Academy at home Wednesday evening.
MMA (6-7-2, 5-3-1 NAC) managed to put in a cross in the 14th minute to take a 1-0 advantage over Husson (8-5-3, 5-4-1 NAC).
The Eagles would have two scoring opportunities in the opening 45 minutes, but both were turned away by the Mariners who controlled a slight 4-3 shot advantage in the first half.

Alejandro Castellanos played a well-placed cross inside the 18-yard box that senior
Mario Alvarez blasted into the back of the MMA net for his fifth goal of the season.
The Mariners managed to steal back moment nine minutes later, playing a long pass up the field that John-John Dickenson collected for a breakaway goal and the 2-1 lead.
Husson finished the half with a 9-3 shot edge and a 2-1 shot on goal mark, however MMA made the most of its only two shots on goal, scoring on both opportunities.
Next up for the Eagles is a senior-day showdown with No. 2 Tufts University at home on Saturday at noon.
