BANGOR, Maine — The Husson University men's soccer team put together a complete team performance in its 6-0 North Atlantic Conference win over the University of Maine at Presque Isle at home Tuesday evening.

Husson (5-2-1, 2-1 NAC) scored at the 12-minute mark of the opening half, sophomore Silas Montigny headed in his first collegiate goal off a corner from senior Mario Alvarez for the early 1-0 Eagles lead.

UMPI (2-7, 0-6 NAC) would hold the Eagles in check the remainder of the opening half, recording three saves to trail 1-0 at the half.

However, the Eagles took control in the second half, scoring fast and often en route to five second-half goals.

Graduate student Mosi Masimango dribbled past the entire Owls defense from midfield before scoring in the fare corner for his third goal of the season.

Three minutes later, sophomore Beckett Parkin played a ball into the box that graduate student Josh Nadeau also powered in for his third score on the year.

Senior Mario Alvarez tallied the first of his two goals on the night, recovering a rebound after senior Florian Gasser's initial shot was saved that the senior midfielder crushed into the back of the Owls net.

Gasser added to the scoring action in the 82nd minute from sophomore Alejandro Castellanos before Alvarez scored a cross from Nadeau into the six-yard box for Husson's sixth and final score.

Husson finished with a 25-2 shot advantage, while posting its second shutout of the season.

Sophomore Samuel Bermudez got the start in net, playing all 90 minutes while the Eagles back line didn't allow a shot on goal.

Husson will look to keep momentum going on Friday when it hosts the University of Maine at Farmington at 4 p.m.
