JOHNSON, Vt. — The Husson University women's basketball team put together a complete team win on the road Friday night in its 85-37 North Atlantic Conference victory over Vermont State University – Johnson.
Husson (7-7, 4-1 NAC) wasted little time getting the offense started in Friday's conference matchup scoring 18 points in the opening quarter and 21 in the second to carry a 39-17 edge into halftime over Johnson (2-12, 1-5 NAC).
The Eagles kept their momentum going in the third quarter, scoring a game-high 29 points to the Badgers eight to increase their advantage before ending the night on a 17-12 run to pick up the 85-37 decision.
Graduate student
Bailey Donovan finished with a game-high 14-point, 13-rebound double double, while adding three assists, three steals and shot 60 percent from the floor.
Husson finished the night shooting 43 percent from the floor and over 48 percent from behind the 3-point arc.
Junior Sofia Reyes-Torres finished with 10 points, four boards and a game-high four assists, while junior
Roxanne Sasse impressed off the behind, scoring 13 points and recording three steals.
Fellow junior
Maci Beals also scored in double digits with 10 points, adding three assists in just 13 minutes.
Additionally, sophomore
Danielle Dow scored a career-high seven points, while also pulling down a career-high four rebounds. Junior
Lauren Cook finished the matchup with eight points and two steals, helping the Eagles finish the night with 20 steals and 23 assists.
Husson will now turn its attention on SUNY Canton on Saturday with game time now moving to 11 a.m. due to inclement weather expected to hit the area.
