BANGOR, Maine — The Husson University volleyball team dropped a hard-fought 3-1 decision to Fisher College at home Wednesday evening in non-conference action.
Fisher (6-5) managed to come back midway through the first set to take a lead and never trailed as Husson (1-10) tried a late-set comeback, but the Falcons earned the deciding 25-19 opening frame.
The Eagles rebounded in the second set beating Fisher 25-21, but the Falcons took a 2-1 edge with a 25-20 set three win.
In the fourth set of the evening, Husson opened an early advantage, but Fisher took the lead midway through the fourth set and held on for the 25-22 win.
Graduate student
Cheyenne Young paced the Eagles with a game-high 14 kills, adding 14 assists and seven digs. Young also finished the match with only two attach errors, hitting .279 from all over the court for Husson.
Freshman
Janna Preskorn added a career-high 12 kills in the loss and 13 digs, while junior
Alyvia McIntyre tallied 21 assists and 12 digs.
Additionally, junior
Beatrice Tursi scooped up a team-high 16 digs and Young collected four blocks.
Husson returns to North Atlantic Conference action on Saturday when it hosts Vermont State University Lyndon at 1 p.m.
