CASTINE, Maine — The Husson University volleyball team dropped its North Atlantic Conference season-opener on the road Saturday to the reigning NAC champion Maine Maritime Academy 3-0. 
 
MMA (7-3, 2-0 NAC) benefited from a 25-16 set one win over Husson (0-9, 0-1 NAC) before taking the second set 25-9 and the final set 25-13. 
 
Graduate student Cheyenne Young, junior Cam Schweitzer and freshman Janna Prescorn each tied with a team-high four kills, while Young led the time with two blocks, six assists and added six digs. 
 
Junior Beatrice Tursi tallied a team-high eight digs and freshman Maddie Sheppard added three kills. 
 
Husson will travel to Presque Isle, Maine on Sunday for a 2 p.m. conference showdown against the University of Maine – Presque Isle.
