BANGOR, Maine – Graduate student Cheyanne Young recorded the first triple-double in school history, but it wasn't enough as the Husson University women's volleyball team dropped a five-set heartbreaker to the Monks of Saint Joseph's College of Maine on Thursday night at Newman Gymnasium.

The Eagles trailed for the majority of the first set as they were down by as much as five. The Eagles were able to rally with a 14-7 run to end the set backed by four kills from freshman Janna Preskorn as the Eagles won the set, 26-24.
Husson carried that momentum into the second set scoring nine of the first 14 points en route to the 25-18 victory.
The Monks was able to complete a comeback by winning the next two sets and the winner-take-all fifth set for the victory.
Young finished the night with 17 assists, 13 kills, and 10 digs while junior Alyvia McIntyre dished out 18 assists. Junior Beatrice Tursi backstopped the defense with 21 digs while Preskorn had six aces to go along with 16 kills.
It's back on the road for women's volleyball as they will head to Regis College (Mass.) to take on the Pride as well as Salve Regina University with the first game happening on Saturday at noon.
