BANGOR, Maine - The Husson University men's golf team fired a seven-under par round of 277 to top Thomas College by 34 strokes in a dual match on Bangor Municipal Golf Course's par 71, 6,165-yard course on Tuesday afternoon.
The team score is the lowest 18-hole tournament tally and the lowest vs. par score in school history. The previous lows happened when Husson carded a six-under 278 in the final round on its way to winning the 2018-19 State of Maine Intercollegiate Championship at Bangor Municipal Golf Course on Sep. 16, 2018.
Senior
Jack King and
Chris Kauppila also tied the program's lowest 18-hole score by an individual and tied for the medalist honors with a five-under par rounds of 66, which were both career lows. King and Kauppila also became the first golfers since Husson Sports Hall of Fame member Cory Pion '03 to record a 66 in a single-round. Pion recorded his 6-under par 66 on his way to earn medalist honors at the 2001-02 Maine Athletic Conference Scrimmage at Natanis Golf Club on Sep. 29, 2001.

Juan Carlos Hernandez shot a career-best 72 (+1) for third place, while freshman
Ty Dickson and senior
Will Kavanaugh tied for fourth with rounds of 73 (+2).
Freshman
Bradley Chisholm and graduate student
Max Woodman each carded three-over 74s, which were good enough for a three-way tie for sixth.
Senior
Cade Charron finished ninth with a 76 (+5), freshman
Jace Cook posted a round of 78 (+7), placing 11th and freshman
Ellis Spaulding carded a 83 (+12) and finished 15th to round out the scores for the Eagles in the field of 20 golfers.
Husson will compete in the Thomas College Invitational on Sunday at the Waterville Country Club. The invitational is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
