BANGOR, Maine – The Husson University women's soccer team returned to winning ways in dominating fashion on Tuesday evening at Boucher Field after a 4-0 result over Thomas College in non-conference action.
It was a scoreless through the first 13 minutes, before the Eagles opened the floodgates. Junior Natalie Aviolla got the scoring started as she danced around a couple defenders before calmly placing her first goal of the season into the back of the net. Less than 45 seconds later and the Eagles doubled their advantage. Sophomore Addi Laslie made her way down the right side of the pitch before laying a perfectly placed low cross to the back post as junior Kate Harriman was there to tuck it home.
The score would remain that way until the final minute of the half when graduate student Charlotte Messer swiftly moved around the box before easily scoring the third of the night for the Eagles.
The second half saw the Eagles continue to put pressure on the Terriers' goal as they found their fourth goal within a minute of the beginning of the half. Sophomore Devon St. Louis used her speed down the right side of the field before finding a shooting lane that was saved. Her rebound found freshman Katelyn Daggett who snuck the ball through the goalkeepers' five-hole for her first collegiate goal.
Sophomore Madison Weigler made one lone save in her 70 minutes in action while junior Hannah Kenney was forced to make two in the final 20 minutes of the game.
The women's soccer gets some time off before they return to the pitch next Tuesday when they square off with the University of Maine at Presque Isle in the county with kickoff set for 3:30 p.m.
