Men’s basketball adds McCauley to 2023-24 recruiting class

BANGOR, Maine — The Husson University men's basketball program continues to build its 2023 recruiting class with a commitment from Andre McCauley. McCauley is a 6-2 wing from Dr. Henry Wise High School in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

McCauley played for legendary high school coach Lou Wilson and helped guide the team to a 21-4 record and a league championship. The Pumas advanced to the regional final before their season came to a close.

McCauley was a co-captain for the Pumas and averaged 10 points a game. He added four rebounds and three assists while shooting 80% from the free-throw line.

"Thing we like most about Andre is his all-around game, he's a high-level defender who understands both ends of the floor," said head men's basketball coach Warren Caruso. "Andre does a lot of things well and we look forward to seeing him in uniform next year".

McCauley will study software development at Husson.

McCauley joins Will Kusnierz of Dexter High School, Javari Ellison of Bishop Guertin High School in Nashua, NH, Kyle O'Hare of Sickle HIgh School in Tampa, Fl and Temitope Aloa of Transit Tech High School, Brooklyn NY.

The Eagles have won eight out of the last 14 NAC Tournaments. They finished the season 13-13 and went 10-2 in NAC play finishing second overall in North Atlantic Conference.
