BANGOR, Maine – The Husson University baseball team closed out North Atlantic Conference action on Sunday afternoon with a doubleheader sweep of the Beavers en route to taking the four-game sweep of UMaine-Farmington. The Eagles won game one, 10-0, and game two, 10-3. With the wins, the Eagles improve to 19-16 and 14-2 in the NAC en route to a first place finish in the NAC East division and hosting rights for the upcoming conference tournament. The Beavers fall to 7-31 and 4-12 in the conference.
Game One: Husson 10, UMaine-Farmington 0
The Eagles offense wasted no time as they jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning. Graduate student
Kobe Rogerson was hit by a pitch and scored two batters later when junior
Jackson Curtis ripped a double down the right field line. J. Curtis would score on the next play as graduate student
Ethan Stoddard also hit a double who then scored on the next play for a 3-0 lead.
The Eagles tacked on a run in the third and fourth inning before exploding for three in the fifth thanks to RBI from freshman
David York, senior
Brett Riffe, and Rogerson.
In the 7th, freshman
Sully Beers capped off the scoring in game one as he tripled to right center field as two runs scored for the 10-0 victory.

Brandon Brunell was smooth sailing on the mound as he pitched six-innings of shutout baseball with three strikeouts before freshman
Tanner Audyatis took care of the seventh.
Game Two: Husson 10, UMaine-Farmington 3
The offense continued their momentum from game one as the Eagles took the lead just five batters into the contest. Junior
Akira Warren brought home sophomore
Tanner Evans followed by a consecutive Beaver errors to bring in two runs for a 3-0 first inning lead. The second inning saw J. Curtis double yet again down the right field line followed by his brother freshman
Hunter Curtis doubling down the left field line to make it a 7-0 game.
The Beavers would fight into the contest with three runs in the second and it would stay a 7-3 lead until the fifth when the Eagles put the game to bed with a solo run followed by two in the sixth thanks to a J. Curtis homer.
Sophomore Ryne Ramertta started the contest before giving way to freshman
Sully Beers who went three-plus innings for his first collegiate victor as he allowed just three hits. Junior
Zain Fitzsimmons closed out the game as he retired six of the seven batters he faced.
It's tournament time for the baseball team as they will begin the quest for their fourth straight NAC championship. Their first game will be played on Sunday, May 6th when they take on Thomas College at the Winkin Sports Complex with a gametime yet to be decided.
