WATERVILLE, Maine — The Husson University women's track & field team put together an impressive performance on day 1 of the North Atlantic Conference Outdoor Champions at Colby College capped off by freshman
Angelina Cotoni claiming the pole vault title
Cotoni cleared 2.80 meters to earn the title as the Eagles went 1, 2, 3 in the pole vault. Senior
Willow Whitten cleared 2.20 meters to finish as the conference runner up, while fellow senior
Isabelle Jackson tied Whitten's mark of 2.20 meters to finish third.
Both Jackson and Cotoni set new personal bests in the event, while Cotoni came close to breaking the program record of 2.90 meters set back in both 2014 and 2019.
Freshman
Megan Fletcher finished third in the hammer throw with a throw of 36.66 meters, while sophomore
Aaralyn Scroggins recorded a fifth-place throw of 33.23 meters and freshman Angelena Curcurcu finished sixth overall with a mark of 30.75 meters.
Additionally, freshman
Katelynn Reynolds recorded an eighth-place throw of 27.67 meters to complete the Eagles opening day showing.
Husson returns to the track on Sunday as it looks to repeat as conference champions.
