Men's lacrosse uses fourth quarter push in NAC victory at MCLA

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – The Husson University men's lacrosse hit the road for the final time in the regular season on Saturday as they picked up a 15-10 victory over Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in North Atlantic Conference action.

The Eagles (8-7, 4-4 NAC) and MCLA (5-8, 1-6) exchanged goals for the first 20 minutes of the contest as it took until early in the second quarter for either team to take control of the game. With the game tied at five, senior Matt Boynton scored three straight goals followed by a goal from freshman Bryce DeRonda as the Eagles led, 9-7, at the half.

MCLA would battle back into the contest in the second half as they outscored the Eagles, 3-2, in the third quarter to make it a 11-10 Husson lead.

In the fourth quarter, four different players scored as the Eagles pulled away with the 15-10 victory.

Boynton led the Eagles attack with five goals while graduate student Gunner McAllister and sophomore Sean Lyne each tallied a hat trick. DeRonda (twice), and junior Danny Carter and senior Ben Huynh also found the back of the net in the victory. Senior Jacob Larochelle recorded 11 ground balls as he broke the program record for most in a season that was previously set in 2015 by James Seager (160).

Freshman Odin Burk earned the win in net with 16 saves.

One final regular season game for the men's lacrosse team as they will host Northern Vermont-Lyndon next Saturday at 1:00 p.m. with the senior ceremony set to happen before the game.
