BANGOR, Maine – The Husson University baseball team dropped a 9-4 contest to the Colby College Mules on Friday afternoon at the Winkin Sports Complex.
The Mules (15-6) opened the contest scoring three runs before the Eagles got themselves on the board. Eagles' (9-11) graduate student Ethan Stoddard hit a rocket to right field for a single to score junior Akira Warren and make it 3-1 after one.
Colby College scored seven runs before the Eagles got back on the board in the eighth inning. Three runs scored via an error to make it a 8-4 game. The Mules tack one on in the ninth en route to the non-conference victory.
Junior Conner Wagstaff started the contest and went an inning along with junior Jackson Thayer, freshman Sully Beers, freshman Ben Phillips, and freshman Mason Cycenas-Heimer. Freshman Tanner Audyatis took care of four innings for the Eagles.
Both teams will complete the three-game series tomorrow at Colby with a doubleheader set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
