AUBURNDALE, Fla. — The Husson University baseball team dropped the final game of its Florida spring break trip 8-3 against Immaculata University Thursday evening.
Immaculata (5-2) struck for the first run of the game Thursday evening, but sophomore
Tanner Evans scored on a wild pitch in the third inning to even the game at 1-1.
The Mighty Macs benefitted from another run in the fifth inning to take a 2-1 edge before scoring five runs in the sixth inning to increase their lead to 7-1.
Husson (4-4) scored two runs in the seventh to pull within 7-3 of Immaculata, but the Mighty Macs added another run in the eighth inning to take an 8-3 lead.
Senior
Kobe Rogerson added to his 12-game hitting streak in the loss dating back to last season while freshman
Keegan Cyr finished 1-4 with an RBI.
Junior
Conner Wagstaff got the start for the Eagles pitching five solid innings allowing just four hits and striking out 10 batters.
Husson returns to the diamond on Mar. 19 when it battles Salve Regina University on the road in a noon doubleheader.
