LYNCHBURG, Va. - Husson University defeated Randolph College, 15-6, in a non-conference men's lacrosse contest on Monday evening.
Husson (2-1) tailed by a 2-1 score with 5:40 left in the first quarter but the Eagles rattled off five unanswered goals - including two from junior
Danny Carter - to take a 6-2 lead at the 13:33 mark of the second. Randolph (1-3) and the Eagles would trade goals back-and-forth for the remaining minutes of the second stanza as Husson took a 9-4 advantage into the intermission.
The WildCats opened the third quarter with two straight goals from Sophomore Ethan Caldwell and freshman Chase Callan to cut the Husson deficit to 9-6. However, the Eagles came out firing after allowing those two early goals to begin the second half with six straight goals from an own goal,

Husson held the advantage in shots (48-22), shots on goal (24-17), face-off victories (16-9) and ground balls (24-22) on the evening.

Odin Burk posted seven in the second stanza. Randolph netminder freshman Adam Ulffers made 18 saves in the setback.
For Husson, Boynton scored three goals with an assist while causing one turnover. McAllister tallied three goals, two ground balls and two caused turnovers. Sophomore
Sean Lyne posted two goals, an assist and three ground balls. Carter added a pair of goals and an assist. Vibber scored a goal with a pair of helpers and ground balls. Senior
Jacob Larochelle picked up a game-high 10 ground balls.
Junior Bruce Patterson led the WildCats with a pair of goals and an assist, while Cadwell added two goals. Sophomore Leyton Brightly had two assists and two ground balls.
Husson will play at Averett University on Wednesday in a non-conference contest. The opening face-off is scheduled for 5 p.m.
