WATERVILLE, Maine - Sophomore
Riley Mahoney became the second diver in Husson University women's swimming & diving program history and the first in 50-years to dive off the three-meter diving board on the first day of the eighth annual State of Maine Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Championship inside the Aquatics Center at the Harold Alfond Athletics and Recreation Center on the campus of Colby College.
Mahoney placed tenth in the three-meter diving event with a score of 141.10 to break Meg Archibald's 50-year-old school record of 128.15, while junior
Rachel Hand took down the 200-yard individual medley school record time that had stood for 18-years by clocking in with a 2:16.33.

Erin Madden and Hand opened the meet by swimming a time of 1:49.42 in the 200-yard medley relay. Payson followed up her lead-off swim in the opening relay by earning herself a season-best time of 5:40.23 in the 500-yard freestyle.
Junior
Kat Christensen joined Payson in the season-best time category by swimming a 7:11.64 in the 500-yard freestyle while sophomore
Maggie Poulin and freshman
Isabella Cost each achieved personal-best times of 6:15.30 and 6:48.69 in the event.
In the 50-yard butterfly, freshman
Mackenzie Gray and Christensen swam to personal-best times of 32.77 and 40.44.
Junior
Grace Rocheleau clocked in with a personal-best time of 37.37 in the 50-yard breaststroke.
Madden (2:31.89) and graduate student
Hannah Soutter (2:37.03) each had season-best times and freshman
Mia Winslow added personal-best time of 2:38.07 in the 200-yard individual medley.
In the 50-yard backstroke, Winslow notched another personal-best time of 32.74 and Rocheleau had a season-best race with a 32.11.
Gray (28.81), Poulin (29.88), Cost (31.68) all had personal-best times in the 50-yard freestyle.
The Eagles closed out day one of the meet with the team of sophomore Alex Walsh, sophomore Brady Hand, Payson and R. Hand swimming a 3:59.42 in the mixed 400-yard medley relay.
Day two of the State of Maine Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Championship will begin on Saturday at 10:00 a.m.
