JOHNSON, Vt. — The Husson University volleyball team got back to its winning ways on the road Saturday in North Atlantic Conference action be sweeping Vermont State University Johnson 3-0.
Husson (5-13, 5-3 NAC) held on to win the opening set 25-23 to go up 1-0 in the match before hitting .318 as a team in the second set to roll away with a 25-12 set-two victory and a 2-0 match lead.
Johnson (7-14, 3-5 NAC) battle the Eagles tied in the final set, but Husson came away with the 25-23 win to sweep the Badgers in straight sets.
Freshman
Janna Preskorn led the Eagles with a game-high nine kills and seven service aces, while graduate student
Cheyenne Young added seven kills and junior
Cam Schweitzer tallied six.
Junior
Alyvia McIntyre finished with a game-high 22 assists, while Young, Preskorn and junior
Beatrice Tursi recorded a team-high eight digs each.
Husson will complete its Vermont trip on Sunday when it battles Vermont State University Lyndon at noon.
