WATERVILLE, Maine – The Husson University secured a 3-1 North Atlantic Conference victory over Thomas College on a rainy Saturday night at Smith Field to conclude its regular season.

Senior Josh Nadeau got the scoring started for Husson (11-4-3, 7-1 NAC) as he tallied his third goal of the season in the 17th minute of play off of an assist from fellow senior Damian Sheffer.

After the Terriers (7-7-5, 4-4 NAC) knotted the game up in the 28th minute, the Eagles responded just over five minutes later as junior Domingo Infante found the back of the net thanks to a feed from classmate Mario Alvarez to give Husson a 2-1 lead.

Junior Alejandro Mora concluded the scoring for the remainder of the game as he recorded an unassisted tally in the 41st minute to help the Eagles capture the 3-1 win.

Husson managed to maintain its 3-1 lead throughout the entirety of the second half, even while playing with 10 men due to a red card in the 45th minute of play.

Junior Alex Rechsteiner and freshman Samuel Bermudez split time in net for the Eagles. Rechsteiner manned the goal for the opening 45 minutes and made six saves on seven shots, while Bermudez stood between the posts for the second half and was forced to make just one save.

Husson outshot Thomas 18-11 for the game, although the Terriers managed to put more shots on target as they held a 9-6 edge in that category. 

The men's soccer team will now await its fate as the regular season is set to conclude across the North Atlantic Conference on Sunday. After all games are played, the team will learn the date and time for its opening round game of the conference tournament, which is set to begin next weekend.
