CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Husson University women's soccer team lost 4-2 to Lesley University on Saturday afternoon in a battle of previous unbeaten North Atlantic Conference schools.
The Lynx (10-4-0, 6-0-0 NAC) came out firing right at the start of the game with two goals in the opening ten minutes. The Eagles (9-5-1, 5-1-0 NAC) would get a goal back moments later thanks to Natalie Aviolla's tenth goal of the season. The junior scored on a rebound shot after the initial shot from senior Lindsey Russell was saved from the keeper. The score would remain 2-1 Lesley when the clock hit zero at the end of the first half.
The game would resume with the Eagles tying the game in the 48th minute. Russell would get her goal as she drove inside the box and powered her shot past the keeper for her third goal of the season.
The Lynx would respond with two goals in a two-plus minute span as the Eagles could never recover from the second deficit.
Sophomore Madison Weigler made three saves for the Eagles.
It's a quick turnaround for the women's soccer team as they will travel to Keene State College tomorrow for their final non-conference matchup with the match scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
