KEENE, N.H. – The Husson University women's soccer team bounced back in an impressive way as they took down Keene State College on Sunday afternoon in comeback fashion to win their final non-conference matchup by the final of 3-2.
Like yesterday, it didn't take long for the opening goal as the Eagles (10-5-1) opened the scoring in the first minute of the game. The Eagles forced a turnover in the final third as sophomore Molly Finn found freshman Adtison Clark on the edge of the box as she recorded her first collegiate goal.
Keene State (7-3-4) would respond with two strikes within 15 minutes later as the Little East Conference school held a 2-1 lead at the half.
In the second half, sophomore Devon St. Louis led the comeback charge as she scored twice in a minute period. Sophomore Madison Higgins delivered a corner kick into the box that was cleared as far out as St. Louis at the top of the box who smashed the half-volley into the bottom corner. A minute later, the Eagles took the lead as sophomore Addi Laslie crossed into the box as St. Louis took a touch before chipping the keeper from close distant.
Junior Hannah Kenney and the Eagles' defense forced the Owls to only one shot in the closing stages as the Eagles leave New Hampshire with a 3-2 victory.
Women's soccer returns home on Wednesday when they take on UMaine-Presque Isle for their final home regular season fixture with the NAC contest set to begin at 4:30 p.m.
