FARMINGTON, Maine – The Husson University women's soccer team picked up a 4-0 decision on the road over the University of UMaine-Farmington on Wednesday afternoon at Leib Field.
The Eagles came out firing from the start of the game as they were had three shots saved in the first ten minutes of action. In the 22nd minute, the Eagles were able to find the breakthrough. Senior Lindsey Russell made a run down the middle of the field before unleashing a shot from the edge of the box. The Beavers' (5-8-1, 3-3-0 NAC) keeper made the initial save as the ball came out to sophomore Devon St. Louis, and she tapped the ball home.
The lead would remain until the 52nd minute when the Eagles scored three goals in a seven-plus minute span including two straight goals from junior Natalie Aviolla. Sophomore Addi Laslie capped off the scoring run with a goal from Aviolla.
Sophomore Madison Weigler made four saves to capture the clean sheet for the Eagles' defense.
The road trip for the women's soccer team continues on Saturday when they travel to Mass., to take on Lesley University for a 12:30 p.m. kickoff.
