| By:
BANGOR, Maine — The Husson University baseball team announced its upcoming 2023 Spring schedule on Tuesday, featuring 39 games, 17 of which will be played at the Dr. John W. Winkin Sports Complex.

"We are very excited to play another tough schedule," said head baseball coach Chris Morris. "Our schedule is full of great programs with outstanding coaching staffs that will certainly challenge us. Our coaching staff believes this will be a great way to prepare us to make a push at a North Atlantic Conference playoff spot and the programs seventh conference championship."

The reigning NAC champions begin their season on the road in Florida at the RussMat Central Florida Invitational against the Milwaukee School of Engineering on Mar. 3, who finished 2022 ranked seventh overall in NCAA Region VIII, followed by a doubleheader against Dominican University (Ill.) on Mar. 4.

Following Dominican, the Eagles will play Gordon College on Mar. 6 and a doubleheader with Concorida College (Minn.) on Mar. 7 before closing out their trip to the Sunshine State with games against Cazenovia College on Mar. 8 and Immaculata University on Mar. 9 — who finished the 2022 season ranked as the top team in NCAA Region V and begin the 2023 season ranked No. 35 by the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper, just ahead of the Eagles at No. 37.

Husson will then play regional doubleheader matchups against Salve Regina University on Mar. 19 who ranked third in region II last season, followed by a doubleheader against Mitchell College on Mar. 16 who was also ranked in region II last season, finishing at sixth overall.

Husson will open the month of April with a four-game non-conference showdown against SUNY Canton with doubleheaders on Apr. 1 and Apr. 2.

The University of Southern Maine — who begins the season ranked No. 38 by the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper — will battle the Eagles at the Winkin Complex on Apr. 4 in a matchup of two nationally ranked programs.

Husson opens NAC play with a doubleheader against Northern Vermont University-Lyndon on Apr. 8 and Apr. 9. Followed by a road game against Bates on Apr. 11, before hosting Colby College on Apr. 14 and traveling to the Mules on Apr. 15 for a doubleheader.

The Eagles will play in-state rival Thomas College on the road Apr. 18 in a doubleheader before traveling to Saint Joseph's College of Maine on Apr. 19, followed by seven-straight home games beginning with a four-game series against the University of Maine-Presque Isle on Apr. 22 and Apr. 23.

Husson will play the final two games of its Thomas series at home on Apr. 25 before concluding its seven-game home stand with an Apr. 26 game against Bowdoin College.

The 2023 regular season concludes on Apr. 29 and Apr. 30 with a four-game road conference series against the University of Maine at Farmington.
