BANGOR, Maine — The Husson University mens basketball lost a game to North Atlantic Conference foe, University of Maine at Farmington, 76-58, Saturday night at Newman Gymnasium.
The first half of the game was very even for both teams as the lead would change 8 times. Graduate student Justice Kendall led the charge for the Eagles (7-11, 5-2 NAC) with 10 points. The Eagles got out to a 19-10 lead before the Beavers (11-7, 7-1 NAC) went on a 13-3 run to take back control. The game was scrappy and emotional early on with 16 fouls combined. The Eagles only made one shot from behind the arc in the first half as they trailed 29-28 going into the break.
The second half brought more of the same for both teams. The Beavers defense stayed tough making it hard for the Eagles to make a run. The Beavers went on a 16-3 run late in the half bringing their lead up 64-46. The Eagles hit a couple of threes late but proved to no avail as the Beavers had all the momentum offensively.
Kendall led the Eagles with 15 points and senior Luke Caruso was the second leading scorer with 8.
The Eagles will hope for a turnaround on Tuesday as they will have another NAC contest versus Maine Maritime Academy in Smith Gymnasium. Tip-off for that game will be at 7:30 p.m.
