FARMINGTON, Maine – Every active player for the Husson University women's basketball team contributed to the scoreboard as the Eagles defeated the Beavers of the University of Maine at Farmington, 87-51, at Dearborn Gym on Friday night in North Atlantic Conference action.
Junior Trinity Montigny started the contest off with a bang hitting a three pointer just eight seconds into the contest as the Eagles (12-5, 6-0 NAC) jumped out to a 9-1 lead. The Eagles shot 9-of-16 (56.3%) from behind the arc in the first half as they took a 45-23 lead into the halftime break. Meanwhile, the Eagles defense held the Beavers (2-14, 1-6 NAC) to 9-of-30 from the field in the first twenty minutes.
The second half was much of the same for the Eagles as they continued to grow the lead including a 15-0 run to end the contest en route to their sixth conference victory of the season.
Senior Bailey Donovan led the green and gold with 19 points and eight rebounds while sophomore Hannah Richards scored ten.Â
It's back to Newman Gym for the women's basketball team as they will host the Beavers tomorrow to close out the mini two-game set with tip-off set for 3:00 p.m.
