BANGOR, Maine — The Husson University volleyball team beat the University of Maine – Presque Isle in straight sets on Wednesday evening to pick up its first North Atlantic Conference win.
Husson (5-7, 1-0 NAC) rolled to a 25-11 set victory hitting .357 as a team with 11 kills and only one hitting error.
The Eagles beat Presque Isle (0-10, 0-1 NAC) 25-14 in set two, building off a .357 set one hitting percentage with a .387 attack percentage in the second set to go along with 13 kills and only one error.
Husson matched set two with another 25-14 set three win to earn the 3-0 victory.
Senior
Cheyenne Young finished with a game-high 10 kills for the Eagles while sophomore
Julia Leavitt added double-digit kills with 10.
Fellow sophomore
Alyvia McIntyre finished with a game-high 32 assists, while sophomore
Alexa Beal tallied nine kills for the Eagles.
Graduate student
Amber Lemay recorded a game-high 14 scoops, while Leavitt recorded a career-high seven service aces.
The Eagles finished with a .269 hitting percentage for the game with 34 kills, 12 service aces and 44 digs.
Husson looks to remain unbeaten in NAC play Saturday when it hosts Northern Vermont University-Johnson at 2 p.m.
