SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -Â The Husson University football team lost its non-conference finale to Springfield College 49-7 on Saturday at Stagg Field in Springfield, Massachusetts.
The Eagles (1-3) dug themselves a deep hole to start the game, as they allowed the Pride (2-2) to score three touchdowns in the first quarter and were unable to recover.
Sophomore running back
Elijah Garnett capped off the only scoring drive of the day for Husson, as he scored a two-yard rushing touchdown on a drive that went 17 plays and 80 yards.
Junior quarterback
Nic Visser led the passing attack for the Eagles with 101 yards on 15 completions.
Garnett paced Husson in the rushing department with 46 yards and one touchdown, while sophomore tight end
Cullen Casey hauled in three passes for 34 yards.
Junior linebacker
Adam Bertrand anchored the defense for the Eagles as he recorded 11 total tackles, including seven solo stops.
The Eagles will look to bounce back next week as they open Commonwealth Coast Conference play when they travel to Endicott College on Saturday. Kickoff for the contest is scheduled for
