SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — The Husson University field hockey team dropped a 4-0 non-conference decision to Western New England University on the road Friday evening.
Western New England (3-2) took an early 1-0 lead midway through the opening quarter as the Eagles were held in check despite putting two of their three shot attempts in the quarter on cage.
The Golden Bears added a second goal to begin the second quarter and extended their advantage to 3-0 just before the halftime break.
WNE tallied its final goal of the contest in the third quarter to pick up the 4-0 decision.
Husson finished with seven shot attempts with three landing on frame while senior
Kimmie Goddard recorded six saves in 45 minutes and sophomore
Rileigh Andre turned away three Golden Eagle shot attempts.
The Eagles return to action on Sunday when they travel to Colby College for a noon non-conference matchup.
