NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. — The Husson University volleyball team lost a pair of games to the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and Framingham State University on Saturday.
UMass-Dartmouth (2-1) took the first game over the Eagles 3-0, 25-17, 25-17 and 25-12. Sophomores
Cam Schweitzer and
Julia Leavitt led Husson (1-3) with five kills each, while fellow sophomore
Alyvia McIntyre tallied a game-high 17 assists. Graduate student
Amber Lemay led the Eagles with a game-high 18 digs in the opener.
Husson looked to bounce-back early in the second game, as they took the opening set from Framingham State (5-1) 25-23. Senior
Cheyenne Young recorded seven kills to give the Eagles the 1-0 advantage, while McIntyre contributed 13 assists.
The Rams would take the next three sets by scores of 25-22, 25-14 and 25-18 to earn the match victory.
Leavitt tallied a game-high 18 kills and added 13 digs for a double-double, while Young contributed 12 kills. McIntyre dished out a game-high 39 assists and Lemay recorded a game-high 19 digs.
The Eagles will return home for their home-opener on Wednesday as they will battle the University of Southern Maine. First-serve is set for 7 p.m. at Newman Gymnasium.
